I was born at St. Joseph's Hospital in Orange, California. I am from a mixed heritage, but mostly Norwegian and English. Since my father was in the Marines, I lived in many places as a child. I lived in Minnesota with my grandparents and Ohio with my aunt and uncle.
Living with my grandparents was very different as they lived in the country on a big farm. There were very few conveniences there and no one to play with. They had an out house for a bathroom and a hand pump in the kitchen for cold water. We got all our milk from the cows. I remember that milk tasting very different from "store bought" milk as my grandmother boiled it to sterilize it. I also went to a one room school house.
My early childhood was spent moving from place to place. By age 8 I was living in Ohio with my aunt and uncle and 2 cousins. I loved living there, as I always had someone to play with. Playing in the snow in the winters was great, as was raking all the leaves in the fall.
From Ohio I moved back to California. I loved the sun and beaches. But at age 10 we moved to Seattle, Washington. I really didn't like it there as it was always overcast and rainy.
These are some of the places I have traveled to:
- Mexico
- Cancun
- Rosarita Beach
- Canada
- British Columbia
- Victoria Island
- Calgary
- Washington D.C.
